Seasonal Programs

Spring, Summer, Fall -

  Archery
Archery offers an opportunity to learn a new skill or show off and become better. This activity is exciting and safe. Your group sizes will determine the amount of instruction and shooting time, but everyone will get an opportunity and feel an amount of success. Shooting a bow does not require unusual strength.

Great Pond Adventure
Kingston Lake provides an opportunity for all levels of boaters to have a great time. We have both canoes and kayaks to paddle after a brief introduction and safety lesson. Boating, whether by canoe with friends or in your own kayak, is an exciting and relaxing activity. Life jackets are worn by all participants and exploration time is guaranteed!

Take the Plunge
The beach at Camp Lincoln is open from May to October. After a busy day of learning, why not get refreshed in the cool, clear waters of our lake. We have three large docks and a detached raft to accommodate as many swimmers as you can bring. Longer sessions can be scheduled.

Mountain Biking
After a brief safety introduction, get on the properly sized bike, buckle your helmet and cruise with your group along Camp Lincoln's trails. Learn about simple bike maintenance and care along the way.

Aquatic Adventure
This hands-on class focuses on the components of a lake ecosystem. Participants will discuss the hydrologic cycle and examine different aspects of our lake's water. We will also collect samples of aquatic life ranging from plants to fish, then observe and identify them. This class can be designed to combine with school curriculum.

Gone Fishin'
In this activity session, students can learn basic fishing techniques or simply see what they can catch. Some basic instruction will be given to all groups, then good spots are pointed out and everyone goes fishing! We practice catch and release at Camp Lincoln, so sorry there will be no trophies to take back to school!

Orienteering
Participants will get an understanding of how to navigate during this introduction to the basics of orienteering. After learning the fundamentals, participants will test their skills of using maps, compasses and land mark identification on our orienteering course.

Sports and Games
Enjoy our Baseball Diamond to swing at some balls, play some kickball or learn how to play Alaskan Baseball. We also have a Basketball court, Soccer goals, Horseshoe pits and other "lawn games".

Discovery Hike
On this adventure, students take to the trails around Camp Lincoln to explore the natural world around them. Observation games are played, different aspects of the environment are discussed, and the group identifies various ecosystems they find along the way. This is a great activity for groups to discuss some of the science lessons they have already discussed in school.

Various Environmental Lessons
Depending on the focus of the group and what is being covered in the classroom, Camp Lincoln's Facilitators can lead hikes to cover Nutrient Cycles, the process of Photosynthesis, discovery of why and how trees loose their leaves, investigate the vast Water Ecosystem or a simple lesson on the animals that live in the area and how they all live together while handling the impacts of humans.

Winter -

Snowshoeing
Camp Lincoln looks a lot different covered in snow! What better way to explore than on a pair of snowshoes. Participants will learn the basics of travel on snowshoes while enjoying the pristine, winter landscape of Camp Lincoln.

Tracking
During the cold winter months, Camp Lincoln is transformed into a new world. Snow blankets the forest floor, ice captures the lake, and animals leave detailed records of their journeys/tracks. Participants can focus on identifying tracks in the fresh snow while snowshoeing around our wintry camp.
