Night Programs

Reflections by the Fire
After completing a long, exciting day at Camp Lincoln, we like to give groups a chance to reflect on their experiences. Students will have the opportunity to recall their favorite memories and connect them to their daily lives. Smore’s, songs, and skits are always part of a campfire.

Legends of the Stars
Imagine…sitting under the stars, listening to the cries of the native loon on a warm breezy night along Great Pond. In this program, students discuss ancient beliefs about stars, identify constellations, and discuss the place of our Earth in the universe. Combine this program with a campfire and it’s a night you can’t beat!

The Dark Forest
On this journey, students trod deep into the nighttime forest and experience a different world. On the trail, games are played that illustrate the light spectrum as well as learning to see in the dark. The group will also have silent sessions to observe and identify nighttime sounds. The group ends the evening with journal writing about their journey at the campfire.

Medieval Potion
The king of Camp Lincoln is a good king, fallen ill. In order to save him, the loyal subjects of camp must find the natural elements to cure him. In supervised groups, students delve deep into the forests of the kingdom in search of the required ingredients. With things like enchanted wood chips, blades of dragon grass, and fire bellied newts, the subjects will create a magical potion to save their king. Will they be fast enough?
