Strategic Planning
The Southern District YMCA/Camp Lincoln has engaged in a strategic planning process in order to identify critical priorities and strategies toward achieving the mission, vision and values of the YMCA. The YMCA's Board of Directors and Executive Director determined that this project is necessary to move the organization forward and required the full support of its staff and volunteers, as well as support from YMCA of the USA's consulting team.
A strategic planning committee was formed in September 2006 to work with a Y-USA consultant, YMCA staff and volunteers to gather and present data necessary to support the process. For more information, contact Rob McGregor at rob@ymcacamplincoln.org.
The leadership of the YMCA performs strategic planning for the sole purpose of moving the organization in a conscious and deliberate fashion towards an end goal of the successful leadership it wants in the future.
The process is defined as strategic because this type of planning deals with the larger, directional issues affecting or influencing the YMCA.
Key YMCA stakeholders will engage in defining the mission, vision and goals of the association and identifying the strategies for best achieving them.
The strategic planning committee will work over the course of 6-9 months to review internal and external data, identify and define aspirations for the association, develop strategies and draft a plan.
A final strategic plan will be endorsed by the Board of Directors, which provides clear purpose and direction for the association's future actions and operational planning.
