Session 4

March 5 - April 13

Make-up week is April 16-20

Wheel Throwing - This class is for students with no or little clay experience who are interested in learning basic skills at the potter’s wheel for creating functional work. Demonstrations will cover wedging, centering, and forming shapes such as vases, mugs, bowls and plates. You will learn basic glazing and decorating techniques and will be introduced to electric kiln firing. This course is a great introduction to the exciting process of wheel thrown ceramics.

Instructor Jessica Seaton     Tuesday 6-8     $144 plus $20 materials fee

Oil Painting- This class will work with the various techniques in oil painting including impasto and a traditional layering process. Explore each step from drawing to under-painting to color application. Design, value, color and creative oil painting techniques and tools will be discussed and demonstrated.

Session 5

April 30- June 8

Make up Week June 11-15

Printmaking- This 7-week class is an introduction to drawing-based printmaking processes, specifically exploring etching and relief. Each participant will gain an understanding of the technical processes and the visual language native to each process and the possibilities of working with the multiple.
