Teen Adventure Trips
Ages: 12 -15 years old
Dates: June 23 - August 16 (1 Week Trips)
Our trips have a maximum of 10 participants with co-leaders who guide the group to ensure safety and fun. Certain activities require guides from specialized outfitters while other programs rely on our Adventure Staff trained in Lifeguarding, advanced first aid and CPR.
Goals for our adventure trips are to enhance self-confidence, build group-living skills, demonstrate respect for the environment, encourage positive decision-making and continue character development.
All trips meet on Sunday at 5 PM. Make sure you eat dinner before you come. Pick-up is at 6 PM Friday night.
White Mountains Exploration (June 23 - 28, 2013) $475 Cancelled
Travel north with us to take in some of the majesty of the most rugged mountains in New England! Campers will be tent camping in the middle of the White Mountains at Dry River Campground. Day hikes will consist of exploring Franconia Notch and summiting one of New Hampshire's 4k footers. Hikes will range from 5 to 8 miles per day or less. After a week of tent camping and hiking, we will take to the tree tops for a zip-line canopy tour and hit up North Conway on the way home to unwind! Evenings will be spent next to a campfire preparing meals, telling stories and playing games.
Quebec Urban Adventure (July 7 - 12, 2013) $575 Cancelled
Spend the week experiencing the culture and excitement of Quebec's capital city, shopping on the Rue St. Jean, navigating Canada's exhilarating rapids and visiting the Waterpark. We will reside in the historic youth hostel in Old Quebec City with kitchen accommodations. Campers will have the opportunity to work with our staff to prepare evening activities for the trip. All campers must travel with their current passport.
Amusement Extravaganza (July 14 - 19, 2013) $575
Road Trip! Hop on the bus to travel to some classic amusement parks in the Northeast. We will travel to Pennsylvania and stay overnight in cabins at YMCA Camp South Mountain. From there, we will travel to Dorney and Hershey Parks. An additional night will be spent tent camping at a campground where the group will depart on the final day to Six Flags New England. Evenings will be spent next to a campfire preparing meals, telling stories and playing games.
Rock & River (July 21 - 26, 2013) $550
Campers, grab a paddle and harness! We will be heading off for a wild adventure. The experience starts with classic rock climbing routes in Pawtuckaway State Park. Campers will work with our staff to plan a group day hike in the White Mountains. This hike’s mileage and route will be determined as a part in this planning process. We will be tent camping at both Lafayette State Campground and at the Adventure Bound Campground in Maine. From Adventure Bound, guides will lead us in a fun day riding the rapids of the renowned Kennebec River! Evenings will be spent next to a campfire preparing meals, telling stories and playing games.
The Maine Event (July 28 - August 2, 2013) $550 Cancelled
This traditional adventure continues to set out and discover the rugged coast of Maine! Climb the majestic granite cliffs and paddle around Mount Desert Island with professional guides. Then, head to Bar Harbor and explore the carriage trails on bikes and relax by the sand. The week will be spent taking in the beauty and adventure that Acadia National Park has to offer. We will be spending the nights next to a campfire preparing meals, telling stories and playing games while tent camping at Seawall Campground.
Adirondack Experience (August 4 - 9, 2013) $550
In the spirit of true expedition, our crew begins the week learning about the natural and cultural history of the Adirondack region at the Blue Mountain Museum in Blue Mountain, NY. We will experience a customized tour to learn about the history of the area. Then, a 3 day back packing trip will begin. Twenty-five miles of the West Canada Wilderness will be covered over a 3 day back packing trip. Campers will witness first hand the evidence of past culture which includes the legendary hermit – French Louie. Through this trip, we will practice back-country and community living while staying in tents and lean-to shelters.
Bikes & Beaches (August 11 - 16, 2013) $550
Travel to Cape Cod and Nantucket. We will be staying in tents on the Cape and in a Hostel on the Island. Days will be spent exploring on bikes, lounging on the beaches, tossing Frisbees and seeing the summer out with style. On average, our group will be biking 10-15 miles per day. Two nights will be spent in the Youth Hostel on Nantucket Island. The other two nights will be spent tent camping near the water at Nickerson State Campground. Evenings will be spent cooling off in the water, playing games and preparing meals.
